Founded in 1978, the District of Columbia Hospital
Association (DCHA) is a non-profit organization with 18 member hospitals and
over 50 Associate Members whose mission is to provide leadership in improving the health care
system in the District of Columbia, advocating for the interests of
Member Hospitals as they support the interests of the community. To this
end DCHA will:
- Represent and advocate for its Member Hospitals;
- Provide a forum to solve common problems and achieve common
goals;
- Assist its Members to meet community health care needs; and
- Encourage health services research and education.
The
Association has been in the forefront of the debate on a wide range of
national health issues, and locally, DCHA works closely with government and
non-government officials to meet community health needs.
